Michigan’s Sunrise Side has some of the most unique beer and tantalizing wines to be found anywhere. You can sample what the Sunrise Side has to offer on a special tour that we have designed called the Wine and Hops Trail. The Trail consists not only of wineries and breweries but some very special attractions. Make your trip a weekend or a whole week. It will be a time you will never forget.

If you are coming up from the South start in the welcome pub called the Lumberjack Restaurant and Lounge in West Branch then travel to Rose City for a little wine tasting at the Rose City Winery. From there travel to Hillman for a gourmet dinner ride, elk tour and wine tasting. Spend the night and move up to Alpena for a stop at the Fletcher’s Brewery and Stoney Acres Winery. Travel down US 23 to Oscoda to Wiltse's Brew Pub and watch the beer being made. End your trip on a wine tasting and gourmet dinner cruise to Charity Island.

Stop 2: Rose City - Rose Valley Winery

Stop 3: Hillman - Elk Viewing, Carriage/Sleigh Ride, Gourmet Dinner and Wine Tasting at Thunder Bay Resort, Brush Creek Mill

Stop 4: Alpena - Stoney Acres Winery, Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center, Besser Museum, John A Lau Saloon, Lighthouse Festival Museum

Stop 5: Oscoda - Wiltse's Brew Pub, AuSable River Queen, Lumberman's Monument, Iargo Springs

Stop 6: AuGres - Charity Island Lighthouse Dinner Cruise

Other Stops: East Tawas - Tawas Point Lighthouse, Sturgeon Point - Sturgeon Point Lighthouse, Presque Isle Harbor - Old & New Presque Isle Lighthouse
